Any rational human being has to have some doubt as to is the better candidate in the national election. As Justin points out in this post, Hillary's numbers have probably improved because no one is really attacking her. It's a completely legitimate and reasonable hypothesis for her better poll numbers and Obama's worse ones. Hillary has never looked better in the polls than she does now but it's likely because she won't be the Dems candidate. I still wish she would be but it isn't going to happen. As a part of this, I think it's impressive that Obama's numbers have remained so strong in spite of the constant attacks made by the opposition and the crap with Rev. Wright, etc. Something tells me that, in reality, Obama is the better bet to win than Hillary in a national election because of this. If he ever starts really attacking McCain, which I think will happen as soon as the Dems race is over, Obama is going to make McCain look stupid on practically every issue. Think about the debates those two will have. Ancient-looking, slow-talking John McCain (who makes sure to check what he's written down every ten, excuse me, five seconds) versus Barack Obama, a much younger, more vibrant looking man who will be a good debater when there's something to attack (the all-Dem debates just don't do it). There's nearly thirty years between them in age. It will be like JFK-Nixon in '60, except if Nixon were ten years older and thirty pounds heavier with white hair. Obama will win in '08.
